In keeping with tonight's big topic...
Here is Brian Sandalow's story about the strike, and here is his blog entry dealing with it.
Greg Rajan also has a story and some bloggage.
It seems that the story is the same everywhere; the players had no say in this matter, and they're not happy, regardless of whether they would have called for a strike or not.
Plenty of players, coaches and general managers were completely unaware of this until contacted by the media, or at least by each other.
Bucks head coach/general manager Terry Ruskowski apologized profusely to me for not knowing more about the situation, while team captain Serge Dube said he wouldn't have known prior to my phone call if it hadn't been for Adam Rivet calling to tell him.
Obviously there isn't much time to get things resolved without affecting the schedules that have been set out for this season, so hopefully all will be taken care of soon.

STRIKE! The first year of collective bargaining in the CHL and already a strike...ridiculous. The season hasn't started yet and we have a STRIKE!
I understand the role of a union is to protect players from dubious and shady owners but in this case the players had no vote or voice on the matter. What kind of union is this PHPA? Is it a union that truly wants to use scare tactics on owners and players?
I'm sure that when the owners and players agreed to the CBA last year a STRIKE never crossed their minds. Besides haven't we seen enough scare tactics the last 8 years to last us a life time?
Geez I sure hope this strike doesn't go through. I want my hockey not a strike.
I agree with everything that was said by Troy Nelson of the Killer Bees with the exception of "beating" Laredo. It hasn't happened since they came into the league and it's not going to happen this year.
Memo to Troy Nelson: Put the crack pipe down and check yourself into rehab. I understand the valley has some good rehab centers.
