Game Day No. 4

The Bucks are in Corpus now to take on the IceRays tonight. Both teams are coming off fairly rough losses, as the Bucks lost 5-2 to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and the IceRays fell 8-2 to the Rapid City Rush.

Last night's winners will face off tonight, as well, with the Bees hosting the Rush at 7:35 p.m.

The Bucks' game begins at 7:05 p.m.

You can read Bryan Benway's preview here and see the pre-game notes here.

As usual, you can follow all of the night's CHL action on the Poinstreak scoreboard for the league.

Tonight's other games pit the Colorado Eagles against the Amarillo Gorillas, the Mississippi RiverKings against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, the Odessa Jackalopes against the Texas Brahmas, the Oklahoma City Blazers against the Tulsa Oilers, the Arizona Sundogs against the Rocky Mountain Rage and the Wichita Thunder against the New Mexico Scorpions.

The Rage and defending champion Sundogs are both winless so far this season, but that will obviously change for one of them tonight.

In the NHL, the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers are just getting started, while there are also games between the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs, the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers, the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders, the Anaheim Ducks and Montreal Canadiens, the Atlanta Thrashers and Boston Bruins, the San Jose Sharks and Tampa Bay Lightning, the Los Angeles Kings and Nashville Predators, the Washington Capitals and Dallas Stars, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild, the Florida Panthers and St. Louis Blues, the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, the Buffalo Sabres and Colorado Avalanche, the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks, and the Calgary Flames and Phoenix Coyotes.

That is a lot of games.

Meanwhile, in the Valley, Brian Sandalow has his take on the Bees' win last night and his first "5-Minute Major" video blog of the season...which is, by the way, six minutes long. It features rookie Bees head coach Chris Brooks, who apparently does not like his face to be visible to the viewing public. Or maybe my computer screen is just dark.
