What's Going On

Obviously the big story for the Bucks is their second straight three-in-three, with tomorrow's game against the Corpus Christi IceRays setting the stage for the rest of the weekend.

Tomorrow will be the team's first "Thirsty Thursday," which means beers (at least the regular-sized domestic ones) will be $2 from 6 p.m. until who knows when.

It will also be the first jersey auction night, with the guys wearing Halloween sweaters to be sold after the game.

Brian Sandalow has some news out of the Valley, as rookie Daryl Moore didn't skate with the Bees in practice this morning. Moore, one of the team's Western Michigan alumni, has two goals and an assist so far this season, and I'm not sure the Bucks would be too sad to see him sit out Saturday night's game.

Bryan Benway blogged about the Bucks' cuts yesterday and added a note about Ryan James Hand exacting some shaving cream revenge on Erick Lizon at practice, which was admittedly an amusing sight. Especially when Lizon chased down his attacker and smeared a decent amount of the shaving cream on him.

In Corpus, Greg Rajan has a new "Meet the IceRays" video, featuring defenseman Bob(by) Rapoza, who apparently hails from Fall River, Massachusetts, which I visited a few times while in college. Neat.

Adam Dunivan has written plenty about the 6-0 Colorado Eagles since I last linked him, as have Kollen Long about the 2-3 Wichita Thunder, Alex Mansfield about the 2-2 New Mexico Scorpions and Robert Keith about the 3-1 Texas Brahmas.

The CHL scoreboard is dark again tonight, but in addition to the Bucks-IceRays game tomorrow, the Brahmas and Amarillo Gorillas and Colorado Eagles and Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will be playing. That Colorado-Bossier game should be a good one.

In the NHL tonight, there are only three games, with the Toronto Maple Leafs at the New Jersey Devils, the Minnesota Wild at the Dallas Stars and the Detroit Red Wings at the Anaheim Ducks.

UPDATE: As rumored (well, kind of), the Amarillo Gorillas have claimed goaltender Mike Gorman off waivers. Sandalow has more on why the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees let the veteran go and his expectations for the Gorillas-Killer Bees showdowns later this season.
