All-Star Game

I don't have the heart to live blog the All-Star Game after seeing the Penguins give up four third-period goals and lose Rob Scuderi, Max Talbot and Sidney Crosby during a horribly officiated and classlessly played game...plus, the "new" CHL Network isn't any more stable than the old.

What I can tell you is that the Colorado Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the All-Stars less than halfway through the first period, then Nicolas Dumoulin scored late on assists from Sam Ftorek and Chris Richards to make it 2-1.

Just 23 seconds into the second period, Bucks rookie Darryl Smith got one past Andrew Penner unassisted to tie things up, but 2:35 after that, Bucks netminder Sebastien Centomo allowed Konrad Reeder his second goal of the game on just the second shot he faced after entering the game.

As it stands, the Eagles lead 3-2 with 12:36 to play in the second period.

If the video feed keeps working, I'll stay and update for scoring only; if it cuts out again (which would be the 13th time), I'm going to give up.

You can, of course, follow the game here instead or attempt to watch it yourself.

My gosh, the Eagles' sweaters are seriously hideous.

Penner saved 25 of the 27 shots the All-Stars sent his way in the first half of the game, and now Morgan Cey will take over just to get his chance to play in the contest.

Apparently the All-Stars just tied it up at 15:54 in the second period while I was talking to a photographer for like half a second and thus totally missed the goal. Odessa Jackalopes defenseman Russ Moyer scored it on what the broadcasters called a beautiful feed from former Buck and current Mississippi RiverKing Bobby Chaumont.

Just after surviving the entire intermission and leading me to believe I would be able to watch the whole game, CHL TV cut out again...so I'm out. I'll update with the final score and participating Bucks' stats later.

Eagles 8, All-Stars 4: The wheels came off for the All-Stars in the third as the Eagles scored five unanswered before the All-Stars tacked on one more. Reeder had four goals and an assist for the Eagles to earn their MVP honors. Smith had a goal and an assist in his All-Star debut and was named the All-Stars' MVP, while Centomo allowed six goals on the 22 shots he faced in two periods of play. The Eagles sure have his number.

Tonight's NHL Scores: Senators 3, Thrashers 2; Capitals 6, Penguins 3; Blackhawks 4, Sabres 1; Red Wings 4, Ducks 3.
