Fojtik and Salvis Officially Released

Hopefully those of you hoping to see Josef Fojtik and Ryan Salvis traded for a goaltender aren't too disappointed to see them waived with no return.

The Bucks still did get a goalie, of course, in Jean-Philippe Levasseur, but no trades have gone down yet.

I have been asked not to release any details about the decision to get rid of Fojtik and Salvis, and I hope you can all respect that fact and trust Coach Ruskowski enough to know that it was the right move.

If you run into either of them around town, they might be willing to tell you what went wrong.

Cmon, Joy! You are a journalist ain't ya? You should report the story. What is Roscoe going to do; cut you off? Not bloody likely, since you are the only game in town as far as news coverage. So tell us what we all want to know: Why were Salvis and Fojtik cut?

You understand the curiosity don't you? Fojtik was maybe the best new player and Salvis was someone Roscoe said he really wanted to get back. It is very surprising that these two were let go with the reasons kept hush hush.

I know you probably won't tell us, but maybe a hint, LOL?

I don't think that they are still in town. And honestly, if what I heard is true, I'm glad they are gone. Good luck to them at getting another opportunity to play professional hockey.

Yes, I am a journalist, and in attending a prestigious university and being taught by one of the best hockey writers who has ever lived, I learned a few things that a person who is not a journalist may not take into consideration. I have only had one person confirm to me what happened with Fojtik and Salvis, and they did so off the record. Thus, no matter how curious you may be, it is my ethical obligation not to reveal this information. I'm sorry that this bothers everyone, but the people you should be annoyed with are the players, not those being considerate enough to respect their privacy.

I'm not annoyed with you Joy; I know you have your ethical obligations and whatnot. I was hoping maybe I could provoke you enough to spill a little more. But you have to admit that this is kind of strange for the fans. Usually coaches are pretty open in their reasons for cutting two good players. At least one or two comments along the lines of "He didn't show me enough in camp," or, "He didn't fit into my system." To say absolutely nothing and then to go out of the way to put a gag on your press man and the local media . . . that does nothing but fuel speculation and rumors.

Anyway, they are gone, but they left behind a whiff of scandal. I hope it isn't a sign of bad chemistry on this team already.

All I have to say for those of you that don't get it come on we're in Laredo hello open your eyes if they can't say why they were released than it should be obvious, and if you still don't get it than sorry but that's all the hints I will say. I don't know what happened personally but it's obvious if they were good and nobody wants to say why they were released.

Ok, if it has to do with this being Laredo, then it has to be:

1. They hate Mexicans
2. They are Black
3. They are gay

Now do you see why this was totally mismanaged?

Gilnick...your last post is absurd.
