Today's press conference was indeed held to announce the re-signing of defenseman Adam Rivet.
Rivet is a great, humble guy and a lot of fun to watch on the ice, so I'm glad to get to cover him for another season. Obviously, the organization is thrilled to have him back, as well.
Rivet was a finalist for the Central Hockey League's Most Outstanding Defenseman award this past season, a CHL All-Star in 2007 and made the All-Rookie Team in 2006 (when he was also a finalist for Rookie of the Year).
In addition to being an outstanding defensive player, Rivet is also one of the league's top scoring D-men and often fares well in the Best of the Best voting for "Best Offensive Defenseman."
Last season, Rivet finished ninth among CHL defensemen in scoring with 18 goals and 30 assists for 48 points. The 18 goals tied him for third in the league. His plus/minus ratio of +29 was second-best on the Bucks, third among league defensemen and sixth in the league overall.
