It is official; the 2008-09 CHL schedules will be released tomorrow.
Regular season games will begin on Friday, October 17, with all but two teams playing and end on Saturday, March 21, with every team in action.
Because there are 16 teams in the league this season and each needs to play 64 games, there will be 512 games total.
The Bucks will have their usual heavy schedules against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and Corpus Christi IceRays and can expect a lot more games against new Southeast Division foe the Texas Brahmas, who they faced only twice last season.
I will be meeting with Coach Ruskowski tomorrow morning to talk to him about the schedule, the newly-announced player signings and the coaching situation in Rio, among other things.
I've been told that this season's schedule keeps the Bucks out of Laredo around the holidays and is pretty light on Sunday games, but I guess we'll find out tomorrow exactly when they'll be where. I have to say, I'm pretty excited; t-minus three months until the regular season begins!
