Former Killer Bee Jason Cirone will be hosting a charity hockey game on Tuesday, July 15, at the RGV Ice Center in McAllen. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m., with a jersey auction to follow and proceeds benefiting Driscoll Children's Hospital and the McCarty Cancer Foundation.
As the latter charity suggests, four-time Stanley Cup winner Darren McCarty will be the star of the show, while plenty of local CHL favorites have also been tabbed to play in the game.
2007-08 Bucks Igor Agarunov, Jeff Bes, Serge Dube, Adam Rivet and Steve Weidlich will join Travis Banga, Bees GM Grant Buckborough, Cirone, IceRays GM Pat Dunn, Steve Dykstra, McCarty, Dennis Maxwell, Justin Quenneville, Rob Voltera, and Stephan Vossberg in the lineups.
Bees owner Troy Nelson will coach one team, while The Monitor's Brian Sandalow and Greg Rajan of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times will be behind the bench for the other.
I will sadly be out of town at the time, but if anyone is interested in attending, you can find more information on the RGV Youth Hockey site.
