The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees will hold a press conference on Monday to announce their head coach for the 2008-09 season...but the cat's out of the bag, as Brian Sandalow is reporting that Chris Brooks has been hired to the position.
Brooks comes to the Bees from Western Michigan University, where he had been on the coaching staff for nine seasons, most recently as associate head coach. Brooks has no professional or head coaching experience but, as Greg Rajan points out, he does have some history with Bees GM Grant Buckborough from their days with the Amarillo Rattlers of the WPHL.
