Weekend Recap

Apparently basketball playoffs and the start of the baseball season make blogging about nothing a little more difficult than anticipated.

So, instead of trying to come up with something to say right now, I'm just going to give you every link you could want to everything about the Bucks' past weekend, including the ones I've already shared.

From Friday night's 5-2 loss to the Texas Brahmas, you can check out the Pointstreak box score, Bryan Benway's recap, the Brahmas' press release, Robert Keith's recap for the Texas Brahmas Insider Blog and Robert's photo album. Thanks to Robert again for sharing his pictures.

From Saturday night's 6-4 loss to the Amarillo Gorillas, you can check out the Pointstreak box score, Bryan Benway's recap, the Gorillas' press release and David Henry's story for the Amarillo Globe-News.

Bryan also had some complaints about that game on his blog but has been forced to remove them, meaning this is the only place you can read what he had to say.

And from Sunday's 5-1 win over the Gorillas, you can check out the Pointstreak box score, Bryan Benway's recap, the Gorillas' press release and David Henry's story, which notes that the Gorillas were apparently quite sickly at the time.

As mentioned yesterday, three teams clinched playoff berths this weekend, and that is one focus of Bob Hoffman's "Shots from the Point" for today, which also note that the Colorado Eagles and Odessa Jackalopes are quite close to clinching the Northwest and Southwest Divisions, respectively.

Meanwhile, Brahmas forward Jason Deitsch was named Player of the Week after scoring five goals and adding three assists, including a four-point night against the Bucks. He was a plus-4 in the win over the Bucks alone, and a plus-6 on the week.

New Mexico Scorpions netminder Kyle McNulty earned Goaltender of the Week honors after starting all four of the Scorpions' road games and winning three, saving 125 of 138 shots he faced in that span.

There's obviously a lot of other stuff around the league I could mention, including Brent Hughes going 1-1 in his first weekend with the Corpus Christi IceRays, but I think I'll wait until I talk to Coach Ruskowski and some of the guys at practice tomorrow to talk any more. See you then.

Tonight's NHL Score: Sharks 1, Stars 0.

Basketball playoffs....?

Eight local high school basketball teams made the playoffs. Three of them played last night, and I had to take calls for their scores as well as edit previews for the teams that play tonight. Baseball would also be a prep thing.
