Cullaton is Back

As you have hopefully seen in today's LMT, former captain Brent Cullaton is returning to the Bucks in a trade from the Rocky Mountain Rage.

All of my sources wanted to stay anonymous on this one (not off the record, sorry), and I don't have all the details, but it appears the Bucks will only be giving up futures, or at most a rookie, in their end of the deal.

I will try to get more about this at practice, but there's no guarantee anyone will want to talk about it until later, so we'll see.

Cullaton will be getting back No. 22, as Matt Miller has graciously agreed to part ways with it for tradition's sake.

As stated in my story, Cullaton leads the Rage in scoring with 15 goals and 41 assists for 56 points in 44 games this season, and during his three seasons with Laredo, he had 177 points in 110 regular season games and 58 points in 48 playoff games to help lead the Bucks to both of their President’s Cup titles.

Everyone wanted Coach Ruskowski to make a big move, and this one definitely falls into that category.

Hopefully this means Bucks fans will stop booing Cullaton every time he touches the puck at the LEC.

UPDATE: Future considerations it is. Did I mention Cullaton is coming off a 25-point month? Not a bad deal, eh?

Nice. Hopefully they will become the bucks of old. With our scoring ability and Cully's great vision and passing. We should be just fine come the playoffs. Hopefully the defense can step it up now.

If Brent Cullaton is back with the Bucks then the trade makes sense. Cullaton is a proven leader on the ice, second to non. That is exactly what the doctor ordered, leadership. I don't understand the part that we gave them a future choice for Cullaton, knowing the Rage are still battling for a playoff spot. How do you give up a big time scorer and a great leader?

Sometimes you gotta ask yourself "What were they thinking off?

GO Bucks!

This is HUGE. With Brent back in Laredo, and once our line up heals up (especially Bes, Lizon, Russell, Weidlich and the rest) we our going to be tough to beat. Hope the BUCKS kick it up. Wish I was in Laredo to see our Laredo Bucks start dominating again. GO BUCKS GO!!!

Why would she tell you who her sources were? Is it any of your business? Squeeze the info from someone? Really? She was just doing her job.

As the anonymous commentor directly above this seems to realize, I did not squeeze (or "squeexe") information out of anyone. It was volunteered to me by several sources, which led me to speak to other people about the topic. These sources all wished to remain anonymous, and they will.
