Game No. 48 - Bucks at Scorpions

Another crucial win for the Bucks tonight, as they topped the Scorpions 4-2 to sweep the season series.

The Bucks improve to 28-16-4 (60 points) to stay 10 points back of the Texas Brahmas, who improved to 33-12-4 (70 pts.) with their 4-3 SO win over the Odessa Jackalopes. I guess Jason Deitsch had Juha Toivonen's number in that shootout.

Sorry for the lack of game blogging tonight; I was alone on desk and had a lot of late wire to wait for as well as some local stuff to take care of. How 'bout that Nate Robinson?

Darryl Smith, Matt Miller, Igor Agarunov and Brent Cullaton had the Bucks' goals, and Cullaton, Serge Dube, Agarunov, Vincent Zaore-Vanie, Adam Rivet and Ryan Salvis each had an assist.

Cullaton's goal came while the Bucks were both on a power play and given an empty net as Kyle McNulty was pulled in spite of the Bucks' advantage.

The Bucks took seven penalties, while the Scorpions took six, but a couple of them matched up, so the Bucks only had four power plays and the Scorpions five. Cullaton's power-play goal was the Bucks' lone score on the advantage, while the Bucks killed all five of their own penalties.

Jason Dixon, Dube and Mike Gooch ended up with plus/minus ratios of minus-1 for the contest, while Zaore led the Bucks as a plus-2.

In spite of Sebastien Centomo's stellar performance last night, Andrew Martin got the nod this time and saved 21 of 23 shots for the win. The Bucks and Scorps finished even on shots for the night.

You can check out the Pointstreak box score or read Bryan Benway's press release for more on the game.

Hopefully the bucks can gain some momentum from these wins and get on the winning track. Especially this Friday against Texas.
