Game Day No. 9

We are just a few hours away from the Bucks (5-3-0) playing their first of seven straight home games, as they will host the Odessa Jackalopes (4-2-1) at the LEC tonight.

Here is my preview for the game, and here is Bryan Benway's.

One thing I didn't really mention in my story is that both teams have pretty superb goaltending, with Sebastien Centomo and Ryan Gibb doing the job in net for the Bucks and Alexandre Vincent and Juha Toivonen, who have each won Goaltender of the Week honors already this season, between the pipes for the Jacks.

Coach Ruskowski was fairly confident he'd be starting Centomo, but I wouldn't be shocked if Paul Gillis starts his backup Toivonen with the undefeated Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on tap for Saturday.

The Bucks' game is the only one in the CHL tonight, while the NHL is quite busy with games between the New York Islanders and Atlanta Thrashers, the Edmonton Oilers and Pittsburgh Penguins, the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins, the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers, the Philadelphia Flyers and Ottawa Senators, the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche, the Nashville Predators and Calgary Flames, the Phoenix Coyotes and Vancouver Canucks, the Florida Panthers and Los Angeles Kings, and the St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks.
