All-Star Craziness

My day is packed, from 9 a.m. until whenever we send pages tonight, with All-Star Game events, stories and everything of that nature, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to blog about everything until after the practice sessions tomorrow.

However, I did want to note that Bucks player/assistant coach Jeff Bes has been named captain of the South Texas squad.

The South Texas alternates are Corpus Christi IceRays captain Justin Quenneville and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees forward Jesse Bennefield.

For the CHL All-Stars, team captain will be Colorado Eagles captain Riley Nelson, and alternates are Eagles defenseman Aaron Schneekloth and Mississippi RiverKings defesenseman Derek Landmesser.

The CHL banquet starts in a little under an hour, and of course, the game is tomorrow night at the LEC. All three South Texas coaches seemed to believe they'd have quite a few fans in the stands; how many of you plan on attending the game?

If you don't plan to attend, or aren't close enough to Laredo to do so, here's the broadcast information once again.

I'm hoping I can make it, with a couple of friends.

Well, I hope the team (Bucks) has been practicing. They need it!

Hate to be the one to tell you this, but they have not. The PHPA requires that teams not hold practices during the All-Star break, plus the Bucks didn't practice Sunday and won't tomorrow because the ice will already be covered for the boxing event on Friday night. The team will drive to Hidalgo tomorrow night and may get some practice time then, but this is essentially a week off for the Bucks who aren't on the All-Star team.

Dang... I guess we shouldn't be surprised if they lose again this weekend. :-(
