The South Texas All-Star reserves were announced earlier today, with three Bucks making the cut to join their three starting teammates.
Forwards Jeff Bes and Evan Schwabe, the team's top two scorers, and defenseman Jarred Mohr got the nod.
The full team will be as follows, with starters in italics:
Corpus Christi IceRays
F Ryan Garbutt (first ASG)
F Justin Quenneville (second)
F Jereme Tendler (first)
D Kyle Peto (first)
D Jason Tessier (fifth)
G Kevin Nastiuk (first)
Laredo Bucks
F Jeff Bes (fourth)
F Evan Schwabe (first)
F Darryl Smith (second)
D Jarred Mohr (first)
D Adam Rivet (second)
G Jean-Philippe Levasseur (first)
Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees
F Jesse Bennefield (first)
F Grant Goeckner-Zoeller (first)
F Sean Muncy (first)
D Nathan Ansell (first)
D Tom Sawatske (first)
G Andy Franck (third)
Obviously, the coaches intentionally picked three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender from each team, in part to help the fans feel like this involves everyone equally.
These guys will go up against the CHL team, for which starters were announced yesterday and reserves will be revealed tomorrow, at the LEC on Jan. 13.

What if today was your last day??
why do you keep writing January 14th in your stories as the date of the all star game when it's the 13th?
That's a good question. I guess I must have written it once and gotten the idea in my head that Jan. 14 was the correct date. I'll be sure not to make that mistake again, and I'll try to correct it on previous posts.
What a great resource!
