Darryl Smith is set to miss the three-game series against the Arizona Sundogs and possibly even more time after being brought up to the AHL by the Manitoba Moose.
The Mooser hinted at their need for a center with this item posted on their Web site yesterday.
The Moose will be playing three straight games in Texas later this week, against the Houston Aeros and Texas Stars, so Smith got on their radar as an easy player to add to the lineup for the time being.
Coach Ruskowski says whether or not Smith stays up will depend on the way he plays in these games, and the way the Bucks react will also have to depend on that.
Obviously, this leaves the Bucks in a pretty tough situation, and Ruskowski said it would be nearly impossible to sign someone and get him out to Prescott Valley in time to do the team any good. However, without Smith and with Igor Agarunov and Cody Hamilton on the IR, the team is down to 17 players right now.
More when I get to the office.
