In following the draft yesterday, I forgot to mention the trades that accompanied it. As can be expected, there were quite a few. Here's the rundown of yesterday's big ones:
Calgary Flames - Acquired center Mike Cammalleri from the Los Angeles Kings for their 2008 first-round draft pick.
Columbus Blue Jackets - Acquired forward R.J. Umberger and a 2008 fourth-round draft pick from Philadelphia for their 2008 first-round and third-round draft picks.
Montreal Canadiens - Acquired forward Alex Tanguay and a 2008 fifth-round draft pick from the Calgary Flames for their 2008 first-round draft pick and a 2009 second-round draft pick.
Phoenix Coyotes - Traded defensemen Keith Ballard and Nick Boynton and a 2008 second-round draft pick to Florida for C Olli Jokinen.
St. Louis Blues - Acquired goaltender Chris Mason from the Nashville Stars for a 2008 fourth-round draft pick.
Toronto Maple Leafs - Acquired forward Jamal Mayers from the St. Louis Blues for a 2008 third-round draft pick.
Here is a more comprehensive list.
Obviously I won't be able to keep up with the NHL so much once everything with the Bucks takes off. But for now, why not?
