The league has officially announced that the Texas Brahmas will be the fourth team in the Southeast Division for the upcoming season. There will still be two conferences with two divisions apiece, with the alignment as follows:

Rapid City Rush (expansion franchise)

Texas Brahmas (from Northeast)

Also announced was the fact that the playoff format will remain the same for the upcoming 2008-09 season, with 10 of the league's 16 teams advancing to the postseason.
Additionally, the CHL has two franchises that will be added for the 2009-10 season, one in Allen (not far from North Richland Hills, the home of the Brahmas) and one in Independence, Mo.
