Game No. 63 - Jackalopes 4, Bucks 3, OT

The Bucks rallied with two goals in a span of a minute in the third period but eventually suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to the Governor's Cup champion Odessa Jackalopes.

It's worth noting that Sylvain Deschatelets scored his eighth goal in 12 games with the Bucks, making it five in a row with a goal, Darryl Smith notched his team-leading 34th, and Todd Griffith scored the game-tying tally shorthanded.

Kevin Desfosses suffered a loss in his first start in a while, but he stopped 43 shots, so it seems he probably did a pretty good job.

You can read more about the game in Bryan Benway's press release.

In other news, the Corpus Christi IceRays wrapped up the Southern Conference's fifth and final playoff spot with a 5-2 win over the Allen Americans tonight.

That just give the Bucks one more reason to be happy they're the third seed.

The Bucks will close out the regular season tomorrow night with a 7:30 game against the league-worst Wichita Thunder at Laredo Energy Arena.

I'm not going to be able to go downstairs after the game because my boss is out of town, which means I have to help edit the sports section from the arena tonight. Plus, it will be going pretty late at this rate. I'm not sure he'd spill the beans about Cullaton on the record anyway quite yet, but all signs point to yes.

The playoff roster is due to the league tomorrow, but I just asked, and Bryan Benway says it probably won't be released to the media or the public until at least Monday. I'll keep you posted.
