I was under the impression this wouldn't be announced until tomorrow, but since it's on Pointstreak, I may as well post it here: Mickey Gilchrist has been waived to clear up roster space.
Coach Ruskowski said that Gilchrist was a hard worker, a good player and a great guy, but with guys coming back from the injured reserve and other things going on, there just wasn't room for him anymore.
The six-foot, 190-pound forward had one goal and one assist in eight games with the Bucks. His plus/minus was a minus-2, and he served six penalty minutes for a too-many-men bench minor, tripping and hooking.
Gilchrist didn't participate in practice today and will likely be out of Laredo by the end of the night. (Edit: Scratch that; he's still in town, and at the LEC, as of Wednesday night).
Stay tuned for more transaction news.
