Sorry again for the lack of posts; the explanation this time is something more personal than I'd like to share on here. But anyway...
Last week, the Bucks signed rookie goaltender Dustin Slade, and today, they followed that up with the signing of fellow rookie netminder Gerry Festa.
Festa's most complete stats can be found here, but it took some mathematics on my part to figure out his career save percentage.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Calgary native played the past four seasons at the University of British Columbia and prior to that spent four in junior leagues.
You can read more about him in my story in tomorrow's Times, which mentions Coach Ruskowski's other plans for the goalie position and an NHL connection for Festa.
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees also announced some netminding news today, as they re-signed second-year backstop Wylie Rogers to play alongside Andy Franck. Well, not literally.
I've been told the CHL schedules should be announced soon, and we can possibly expect another Bucks' signing later this week.
