Better Late Than Never?

Sorry for the lack of posting lately; work has been fairly busy again with prep stuff back on, and the NHL playoffs are obviously consuming a lot of my time.

Meanwhile, the Bucks finally completed the future considerations deals they had with the Oklahoma City Blazers and Rocky Mountain Rage.

Terms were decided last week prior to the league's deadline, but the team did not announce them until yesterday.

The Bucks sent forward Matt Miller to the Blazers after receiving defenseman Jaye Judd from the team in October.

They also sent goaltender Andrew Martin to the Rage after re-acquiring former captain Brent Cullaton from that team in February.

You can read more about all parties involved and what they did for the Bucks in my story in today's Times.

Obviously, these trades are rights-only, and thus neither of these players is really obligated to have anything to do with the team to which he was traded.

Also noted in my story is the fact that Coach Ruskowski was on the "Hockey Night in Canada" radio show on Sirius-XM earlier today to talk about the 30-year anniversary of the Winnipeg Jets winning the last-ever World Hockey Association Avco Cup in 1979.

Ruskowski was a key part of that team, even contributing four assists in the Jets' 7-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers in the deciding game.

Sorry I wasn't able to post that earlier; hopefully some of you got to hear it.

Also, the Bucks hosted a fan mixer at Hal's last Friday, which you can read more about in the team's community update for this week. Apparently Bryan Benway also did some interviews with season ticket holders that night which you'll be able to hear on his blog tomorrow.

In the NHL, as many of you probably know, the Red Wings are up 2-0 in the Western Conference Finals against the Chicago Blackhawks with the series picking up again in Chicago on Friday.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have a 1-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals with Game 2 of the "Aal-Staal" series to be played in Pittsburgh tomorrow night.

Hope you are all enjoying the playoffs and the reasonable weather we've had the past couple days; I'll be sure to post any other Bucks news in the coming weeks as it happens.
